Ilene H. Ferenczy

Ilene is the Managing Partner of Ferenczy Benefits Law Center in Atlanta, Georgia, specializing in employee benefit plans, qualified retirement plans, benefits issues in mergers and acquisitions, and advising third-party administrators (TPAs) of employee benefit programs. With over 10 years of experience as a TPA before becoming an attorney, she brings a unique and practical approach to her advice. She is a member of the State Bars of Georgia and California, and has earned distinguished certifications and awards from the National Institute of Pension Administrators (NIPA) and American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA).

A nationally recognized speaker and author, Ilene has written numerous articles and books, including "Employee Benefits in Mergers and Acquisitions" and co-authored "ERISA: A Comprehensive Guide." She has served on various industry boards, including NIPA and ASPPA, and is a Fellow in the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel, the highest honor awarded to ERISA lawyers.

Her extensive benefits experience and national reputation have established her as an expert witness in ERISA litigation, and the firm is a member of the International Network of Boutique Law Firms.

Alison J. Cohen

Alison is a Partner with Ferenczy Benefits Law Center in Atlanta, Georgia, specializing in qualified retirement plans, including design, mergers and acquisitions, audits, and operational issues. She guides clients through Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Department of Labor (DOL) corrective programs and audits.

A member of the Georgia and California State Bars, Alison previously served as Associate Vice President, Compliance Manager, and Regulatory Liaison at a large bundled service provider for 16 years prior to joining Ferenczy Benefits Law Center. She served on the IRS Advisory Committee on Tax-Exempt and Governmental Entities (ACT) and is actively involved with the National Institute of Pension Administration (NIPA), where she received the 2019 Excellence in Education Award.

Alison holds multiple designations from NIPA, and is the former first President and an active member of the Pension Education Council of Atlanta. She is a co-author of “The Plan Correction eSource” and “ERISA: A Comprehensive Guide.” Alison speaks frequently on qualified retirement plan topics and issues. She is known for bringing a sense of humor and practical solutions to clients, colleagues, and industry professionals.
