George Maris, CFA
CIO and Global Head of Equities
George Maris is Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and Global Head of Equities for Principal Asset ManagementSM. He’s responsible for leading the equities’ platform by managing more than 120 investment professionals across the firm's global investment centers. George also serves as Portfolio Manager on the firm's international equity strategies.
George joined Principal® in 2023 with 25 years of industry experience, most recently serving as Head of Equities, Americas at Janus Henderson, where he was a member of the firm’s executive committee. At Janus Henderson, George was also Lead Portfolio Manager on the firm’s international and global alpha equity strategies where the international strategy he led received the 2024 Lipper Award for the prior five-year risk-adjusted investment performance. George held several investment leadership and portfolio management positions throughout his career and demonstrated a history of generating strong investment results, improving performance, developing teams and innovating capabilities. Prior to Janus Henderson, George served as lead portfolio manager of the domestic core, international core and global equity strategies at Northern Trust Global Investments. Maris additionally worked at Columbia Management Group serving as a portfolio manager on its large-cap and mid-cap core domestic equity strategies. He previously served as a portfolio manager, equity analyst, and derivatives strategist at Putnam Investments, where the convertibles strategy he co-managed also received the 2004 Lipper Award.
George served as guest lecturer at several universities including the MIT Sloan School of Management, Wake Forest University, and the University of Denver. In addition, he’s a member of the Executive Advisory Board of the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver.
George received his Bachelor of Arts in economics from Swarthmore College, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago, where he’s a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois. George earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Michael Goosay
CIO & Global Head of Fixed Income
Michael Goosay is the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and Global Head of Fixed Income for Principal Asset ManagementSM, overseeing the fixed income platform and serving as a portfolio manager on Short-Term Income, Core, and Core Plus mandates.
Michael joined Principal Asset Management in 2023. Previously, he spent 14 years at Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM), where he most recently held the role of Global Head of Multi Sector, Long Duration, and Liability-Driven Investment (LDI) Portfolio Management and served as a multi-sector portfolio manager. Prior to GSAM, Michael worked as a portfolio manager and fixed income trader at Drake Management, J.P. Morgan, and Prudential.
Michael earned his bachelor's degree in finance from Albright College and an MBA in finance from the Rutgers University Graduate School of Management.
Todd Jablonski, CFA
CIO & Global Head of Multi-Asset and Quantitative Investing
Todd Jablonski is the global head of multi-asset and quantitative investing for Principal Asset ManagementSM. He’s responsible for business, research, and investment management of Principal Asset Allocation, including multi-asset investment capabilities and supporting research augmented by quantitative and indexed portfolio management. Todd oversees specialized multi-asset, multi-strategy investment capabilities globally, including target date, dynamic risk, outcome-oriented solutions, and bespoke multi-asset investments. He leads portfolio management, product development, and research capabilities, including macro insights, manager research, and investment risk and innovation. He also serves as a Portfolio Manager on U.S. dynamic risk asset allocation strategies.
Todd is a member of Principal Asset Management’s Global Investment Leadership Committee. In this capacity, he contributes to the overall vision and management of Principal Asset Management, including strategic planning and execution. He also serves on the board of directors of AFP Cuprum S.A. in Santiago, Chile.
Todd joined the firm in 2010. Previously, he was a Portfolio Manager at UBS, and prior, a Portfolio Manager at Credit Suisse.
Todd has an MBA with concentration in quantitative finance from New York University, a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Virginia and earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Todd Everett
Global Head of Private Markets
Todd Everett is Global Head of Private Markets for Principal Asset ManagementSM with senior level oversight of global private commercial real estate, alternative corporate credit (direct lending), and infrastructure debt. Todd is also the leader of the Real Estate and Private Markets Strategic Working Group and chairman for many of the organization's investment committees.
Since joining the organization in 1985, Todd served in a wide array of investment production, portfolio management, and leadership positions.
Todd is a graduate of the University of Nebraska with a degree in Finance and is a past chair of the CRE Finance Council's Portfolio Lenders Forum, member of North American Real Estate Investment Managers Association (NAREIM) and the Real Estate Roundtable.
Seema Shah
Chief Global Strategist, Principal Asset Management
Based in the U.K., Seema oversees global market strategy and advises investment staff across the firm in making economically sound asset allocation calls. She’s responsible for the creation of global economic macro and secular event research, closely monitoring global central bank policy and political developments. Seema is a regular participant in conferences and forums speaking about global macro market issues. She’s frequently quoted by the financial news media and appears regularly on CNBC and Bloomberg TV.
Seema joined the firm in 2010, previously working as a strategist within Principal Fixed Income. Prior to joining Principal®, Seema served as an economist at Capital Economics where she focused on macroeconomic analysis of the U.K. and the European economies. Seema also worked with the macro consulting group at PricewaterhouseCoopers, and as an economist at HM Treasury & Inland Revenue Service.
She received a master's degree and bachelor's degree with honors in economics from the London School of Economics.
